Summer Institute




Situated in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee where Music Row begins, Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business is internationally renowned as an established leader in music business and recording industry education. Now you have the unique opportunity to visit Music City and take part in the Curb College Summer Institute.
You'll take music business courses at a premiere institution from expert faculty, complete an exciting internship at one of hundreds of partner corporations, and enjoy the rich cultural opportunities the Nashville community has to offer.
FROM HERE TO ANYWHERE
In only two summers, you will earn 19 credit hours equivalent to Belmont's Music Business minor and apply what you learn in a rewarding industry internship. During your first summer you will enroll in two sessions allowing you to maximize your educational experience in Nashville. Your second summer will include a full ten week internship in which you will network with industry professionals and refine your classroom knowledge in a real world setting. Eligibility and Application
Students currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited institution who have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours and are in good standing at their home institutions are eligible to apply.
To apply for the Summer Institute, submit the materials below to the Office of Admissions, 1900 Belmont Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37212-3757 by May 1, 2009:
- Completed Non-Degree Application (At the top of the application, check Cross-Registrant and write "Summer Institute.")
- Confidential letter of recommendation
- Official transcripts from ALL colleges attended, even if prior courses are listed on other transcripts.
- An extended paragraph describing your interest in the program.
Housing
If you know someone in the Nashville area, you can stay with them. Should you require or prefer on-campus housing, rooms will be available in one of Belmont's apartment communities.

Costs
- Tuition and fees--approximately $10,170 first summer
- Tuition and fees--approximately $5,525 second summer
- Optional Housing--$1800 per summer plus $100 housing deposit
